Our bike tours for the whole family
A bike tour with children is always fun! 3 stages of the Moselle Cycle Path and a total of 22 cycle paths stretch across the Bernkastel-Kues holiday region and make every cycle tour a special experience. To create the best conditions for a relaxed family trip, we have put together a few suitable routes for you. These routes are characterized by gentle gradients, do not lead over too long distances and offer numerous opportunities for exciting stops.
Our tip: Plan a trip with a RadBus or a Moselle boat so that not only the youngest family members can take a little breather.
Moselle Cycle Path Stage 4: From Mehring to Piesport
25.6 km - 1:45 h - easy
This stage leads along a flat route over wide Moselle loops from Moselle village to Moselle village, always along the right bank of the Moselle. There is the Neumagen wine ship and the wine press in Piesport to discover.
Tip: If you are traveling with small children, we recommend the section up the Moselle from Piesport via Neumagen-Dhron to Riol. This part of the route also runs away from the road along the banks of the Moselle.
Moselle Cycle Path Stage 5: From Piesport to Bernkastel-Kues
18.3 km - 1:20 h - easy
The Moselle Cycle Path leads along the banks of the Moselle on a flat stretch and past small Moselle villages. On the section between the municipality of Wintrich and Bernkastel-Kues, the route runs away from the road except for a short section and is therefore also suitable for smaller children.
Moselle Cycle Path Stage 6: From Bernkastel-Kues to Traben-Trarbach
22.3 km - 1:30 h - easy
The flat route leads along several Moselle villages and thus offers many opportunities for a nice stopover. If you are traveling with small children, the section between the villages of Lösnich and Wolf is particularly suitable for a cycle tour. Here, the Moselle cycle path runs away from the road. If you have slightly older children, we recommend a trip from Bernkastel-Kues to Traben-Trarbach and then a return trip by boat.
Maare-Moselle Cycle Path
58.5 km - 4:45 h - easy
The Maare-Moselle Cycle Path leads along a former railroad line through two regions: Moselle and Eifel. Magnificent maars, mighty viaducts and shady forests. A Maare-Mosel cycle bus is also available for this cycle tour, which runs regularly between Bernkastel-Kues and Daun. This means you can take the bus to Daun with your children and bikes and then cycle down into the valley in a relaxed manner.
