Mosel Music Festival: Mina Lichtenberg!

Fresh off winning the Rhineland-Palatinate Newcomer Jazz Award, double bassist Mina Lichtenberg will perform at Deinhard’s in Bernkastel-Kues on November 12. In cooperation with the city, the Mosel Music Festival is making this club concert possible—and offering free admission to the audience.
Mina Lichtenberg, who has been studying jazz double bass at the Mainz University of Music for three years, uses her album “Ilumina” to give her own musical expression to her connection with other people as well as with our environment. Warmth, melancholy, and tranquility flow together in her music, creating a special emotional power. Her compositions blend influences from the classical piano repertoire of Alexander Scriabin and Claude Debussy with musical role models such as Charlie Haden, Aaron Parks, Cécile McLorin Salvant, and Immanuel Wilkins. The result is a form of contemporary jazz that focuses not on superficial effects but on atmosphere, sensitivity, and musical nuances. Mina Lichtenberg’s music invites listeners to lose themselves for a moment in her soundscapes—and to find their way back to themselves with a sense of calm.
“She is already making her mark on the scene—and we are convinced that she will continue to play an important role for jazz in Rhineland-Palatinate in the future,” the jury explained in justifying its decision to name Mina Lichtenberg this year’s recipient of the Rhineland-Palatinate Newcomer Jazz Award.

The 30 members of the VDP.Mosel-Saar-Ruwer will be presenting their wines in Bernkastel-Kues!

At the renowned wineries S. A. Prüm, Dr. Loosen, Wwe. Dr. H. Thanisch, Erben Thanisch, and Wegeler, the 30 members of the VDP.Mosel-Saar-Ruwer will present their current wine collections. Look forward to first-class wines, exciting encounters, and special moments of indulgence. A shuttle bus between the venues is included.
Afterward, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the big party kicks off at the S. A. Prüm winery—together with our culinary partner Zeltinger Hof by Markus Reis and DJ Chris Marmann. A delightful evening for wine lovers and anyone who wants to experience the social side of the Mosel!
Participating wineries include, among others, Egon Müller – Scharzhof, Van Volxem, Clemens Busch, Willi Haag, Von Othegraven, Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt, Joh. Jos. Prüm, and Schloss Saarstein.
