CITY CYCLING BERNKASTEL-WITTLICH
01. - June 21, 2026
CITY CYCLING is a fun competition that encourages people to cycle as many everyday journeys as possible in a climate-friendly way for 21 days. Climate Alliance awards prizes to the most bicycle-active local parliaments and the most bicycle-active municipalities with the most cycling kilometers (absolute). The local authorities are to award prizes to the most hard-working teams and cyclists.
CITY CYCLING has now become the world's largest cycling campaign: in 2025, more than 1.2 million people from over 3,000 municipalities got on their bikes. Together, the participants covered almost 238 million kilometers by bike and thus not only avoided 38,900 tons of CO2 compared to a car journey, but also sent a strong signal for climate protection and the promotion of cycling. This shows convincingly that anyone who cycles makes an active contribution to climate protection.
