In the town of Bernkastel-Kues including districts (Andel and Wehlen), the guest contribution has been in force since 01.04.2018 - a small contribution with great benefits!
The town of Bernkastel-Kues has an outstanding tourist infrastructure for its guests. The well-kept medieval town centre of Bernkastel, the newly renovated Landshut Castle, an attractive cultural program, the well-kept spa park, attractive riverside areas on the Moselle and a wonderful network of cycling and hiking trails with the Moselsteig Trail and many vacation country hiking trails as well as the tourist information office and the spa guest center are just a few examples.
The guest contribution, which is levied by the town of Bernkastel-Kues, helps to finance some of the tourist offers. The contribution of € 1.50 per person per night (from 1 January 2025: € 1.70) is charged by the host and is not included in the accommodation price. Children and young people up to the age of 18 as well as people with disabilities (mark "H") and their companions are exempt from the guest contribution. Guest contribution payers receive the Bernkastel-Kues guest card from their host. This offers you numerous discounts during your stay.

The town has an outstanding infrastructure for its guests, e.g. an extensive network of hiking and cycling trails. The income from the guest contribution is also used to provide many other services such as free guided tours of the town and discounts at various tourist facilities and - not to be forgotten: on-site advice at the tourist information office. The guest contribution helps to finance some of the tourist offers.
