    Total distance: approx. 208 kilometers

    Level of difficulty: easy

Day 1: Individual arrival in Trier
Travel early to the Rome of the North. Experience 2000 years of history. You should plan enough time to visit the historic city center, the Imperial Baths and the Porta Nigra, because in hardly any other city has UNESCO put so many monuments on the list of World Heritage Sites as in Trier!

Day 2: from Trier to Zeltingen
Length: approx. 76 km, difficulty: easy
The Moselle cycle path leads you through wide Moselle loops first to the small wine town of Trittenheim and after a few kilometers to Neumagen-Dhron, the oldest wine village in Germany. Here you can marvel at the relief of the old Roman ship. Continue to the old town of Bernkastel-Kues. Stroll across the beautiful market square, past proud half-timbered houses and amazing fountains and visit the wine museum. Here you can find out about wine growing on steep slopes, the different grape varieties, all the work in the vineyard and cellar, wine storage and, of course, wine culture. After this worthwhile break, you continue on the cycle path along the banks of the Moselle to Zeltingen. With around 171 hectares of vineyards and the world-famous Zeltinger Himmelreich, Schlossberg, Sonnenuhr and Deutschherrenberg vineyards, the town is one of the largest and best-known wine-growing communities on the Middle Moselle.

Day 3: from Zeltingen to Treis-Karden
Length: approx. 82 km, difficulty: easy
You cycle through the Kröver Nacktarsch wine-growing region to Traben-Trarbach, which impresses with its unique charm. After a worthwhile break, follow the cycle paths to the right and left of the Moselle via Enkirch, a gem of Moselle half-timbered architecture, and on through the "Zeller Schwarze Katz" wine-growing area to Cochem. Leave the Moselle cycle path here and visit the picturesque town center and the old imperial castle (11th century). It's really worth it! The last 12 km of your cycle tour to the hotel in Treis-Karden are easy.

Day 4: from Treis-Karden to Koblenz, departure
Length: approx. 42 - 58 km, difficulty: easy
Visit Eltz Castle, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved castles in Germany, on an excursion (+ 16 km). Wonderfully romantic and embedded in unspoilt nature, it looks like a fairytale castle come true. Back on the Moselle cycle path, you will discover typical Moselle wine villages such as Kobern-Gondorf and Winningen on the last few kilometers in the Moselle valley. In Koblenz at the Deutsches Eck, the Moselle flows into the Rhine - a wonderful end to your cycle tour.
In the late afternoon you return your booked rental bikes and can collect your luggage at our contracted hotel in Koblenz. We wish you a safe journey home.

Would you like to explore the sights of Koblenz intensively?
Then we recommend booking an extra night at the end of your cycle tour. You can also take advantage of the return transfer back to Trier and get back to the starting point of your trip in comfort.

Things to know about the Moselle cycle tour: the short one
Below you will find specific and helpful information. If you have any further questions about this tour, simply give us a call: Tel: 06421 - 886890.

    Arrival by train
Trier is easy to reach by train from Koblenz and other cities. The best way to reach our partner hotels in Trier and the surrounding area from the train station is by taking a short cab ride or public transport. You can find up-to-date timetable information and prices atwww.bahn.de.

    Parking facilities at your destination
Our partner hotels in Trier offer good parking facilities, sometimes even free of charge, for the entire duration of your cycle tour. There are always sufficient parking spaces available, advance reservation is not absolutely necessary. You will receive detailed information on parking facilities at the hotel you have booked with your detailed travel documents two weeks before the start of your trip.

    Condition of the cycle paths
The quality of the Moselle cycle path is excellent. There are practically no unpaved or poorly passable sections. The route runs almost exclusively on asphalted paths and is uniformly signposted from Trier to Koblenz. The traffic load along the Moselle varies, but between Trier and Cochem there is almost always a separate cycle path on the right or left side of the Moselle, away from the main road. Only on the last day of cycling is there a section on a wide cycle lane next to the main road.

Return transfer to the starting point of the tour
Every day you have the option of returning to Trier by transfer in a minibus (with bike transport trailer) at 09:00 (arrival there approx. 11:00). The driver comes to your hotel and has space for you, your luggage and, if necessary, your private bike. He will drive you back to your starting hotel and thus ensure a perfect return service without the hassle of changing trains or lugging suitcases. You are welcome to bring your own bikes for an extra charge.

Train and bus in the Moselle valley
There is not always a train line running directly through the Moselle valley. After Trier, the train leaves the Moselle valley and the next train station is in Ürzig (near Zeltingen). From Bullay you have a train connection to Reil and Traben-Trarbach. Shortly after Bullay, the railroad line disappears again in the Kaiser Wilhelm Tunnel and only reappears in Cochem. From Cochem, the line runs completely through the Moselle valley to Koblenz.
In the period from 1.5. - 31.10. the cycle bus (line 333) runs daily between Trier and Bullay with a maximum capacity of 22 bicycles.
