Raclette & Mosel wine – an evening full of enjoyment
Essen becomes an experience: With Raclette, each guest composes their pan according to their own taste. This results in unusual combinations, much laughter, and a shared moment of enjoyment that connects people. Whether as a couple, with friends, or in a colleague group: Here, Raclette becomes a sociable evening where you can enjoy together and meet new people.
Special tables with hot plates and large pans, where you prepare your Raclette yourself, make the evening a special experience. Each table thus becomes a common center where cooking, tasting, and laughing together take place.
The evening takes place on the terrace of the Birnfeld Winery, directly below one of our steep slopes. You enjoy your wine against an impressive vineyard backdrop, at the Raclette tables with standing and seating options. The drinks are included in the price, and you can decide leisurely what you like.
On the terrace, a diverse selection of wines from the Birnfeld Winery awaits you, ranging from Mosel Riesling to Blanc de Noir and Rotling. Of course, there are also non-alcoholic beverages like grape juice and water. You simply decide what we may serve for you, so there's something for every taste.
Winemaker Master Jan Birnfeld and cheese sommelier Wolfgang Fusenig are available for you all evening. If you like, you can ask questions about wine production or the types of cheese. Those who just want to enjoy are equally welcome.
You can expect a wide selection of regional ingredients: four selected cheese varieties from local farm and regional dairies, four types of meat from regional farms, vegetables and fruits, as well as a selection of spices. You can prepare the pans as often as you like.
The evening is made for laughter, enjoyment, and good conversations.

Please note that the experience is only valid with a minimum number of participants of 16 people.
The organizer reserves the right to cancel the experience at short notice if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will contact you in good time to discuss possible alternatives.
Couples, girlfriends and boyfriends, groups, colleagues, parents with adult children and anyone who wants to rediscover Moselle wine and farm cheese. Also perfect as a gift: give the gift of time together.
Groups of 16 or more can also request this experience on a custom date. Just write to us, and we will work together to make your very own raclette evening with wine enjoyment a reality.
Cancellations are possible free of charge up to 7 days before the event date.
In case of cancellation less than 7 days before the event date, a cancellation fee of 100% will apply.
The raclette experience takes place in 2027 on three selected dates. One of them is June 11, 2027. This evening also marks the beginning of our summer harvest festival. The festival traditionally kicks off on Fridays with a tasting event with limited seating. On the following two days, the winery, wine shop, wine cellar, and estate courtyard will be open to everyone. You can expect a diverse program, delicious food, musical entertainment, and a bouncy castle for the little guests.

By Car
Directly on the opposite side of the street from our wine store, paid parking spaces are available. At the machine on-site, you can obtain a free parking ticket for one hour. From 7:00 p.m., you can park there for free.
By Bus:
There are two bus stops in close proximity, each about 200 meters walking distance from our winery Birnfeld:
- Stop Ortsmitte Lieser
- Stop Alter Bahnhof
Both stops are served by line 340 of the Verkehrsverbund Region Trier (VRT).
Line 340 connects, among others, Wittlich, Platten, Osann, Noviand, Maring, Lieser (train station and town center), Kues, Bernkastel, Monzelfeld, Gonzerath, Wenigerath, and Morbach. It generally runs hourly until about 11:30 p.m. This makes Lieser very well-connected to Bernkastel-Kues, one of the most popular places along the Middle Moselle.
