Afternoon of art in the Villa Romana

At the art afternoon for the exhibition "When Colors Float" in the Villa Romana you can let the works of Waltraud Condne take effect on you.
“Colorful chairs for the 2002 World Cup – in the colors of the teams!” These were her first projects at the 2nd “Art Exhibition of Art on Hedges and Fences” in the Wittlich City Park. The chairs were sold quickly!
Then it really took off: with various painting media, colors, minerals, and substrates. Inspired by the diversity of blossoms in her beloved garden, which she uses as an outdoor studio, she lets delphiniums, red poppies, wisteria, and various grasses bloom in her images for eternity.
Her works are mostly created in the garden – always painted three to four side by side and interconnected, so everything can flow: colors, earth, flower seeds, plaster, and lava stone. Everything becomes one, and these wonderful images develop. Often she works for days and weeks until they please her.
Walks by the Moselle and in the Eifel give her peace for new project ideas. The garden of Monet, which she visited often, also brings Mediterranean colors and glimpses of light into her own world.
Recently, she has taken a liking to delicate pastel chalks and watercolor paints. Her images become softer and non-representational – they seem to float!
The exhibition “When Colors Float” by Waltraud Condne will be on display from October 1 until the end of December at the Villa Romana. Visit the exhibition and discover her special world of colors, nature, and materials.
On Sunday, the 25th of October from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., we cordially invite you to a special art afternoon at the Villa Romana. Enjoy coffee and cake while taking the opportunity to explore the exhibition in a relaxed atmosphere, engage in conversation, and let the works affect you.
