Winery Selbach-Oster
Winemaking in the family since 1600. Our family has over 400 years of wine tradition in the heart of the Middle Moselle.
In our steep locations in Zeltingen, Wehlen, Graach, and Bernkastel, high-quality Riesling wines are created through intricate manual labor, in harmony with nature, which are considered by both the German and international trade press to be among the best wines in Germany.
On 23 ha, 91% Riesling is grown, mostly from old, own-rooted parcels, complemented by high-quality dry Pinot Blanc, a bit of Gewürztraminer, and a small amount of Pinot Noir grown on slate soil.
The philosophy of the estate aims for elegant, typically Mosel-mineral wines with long durability. First-class vineyards, reduced yields, selective harvesting, and gentle processing provide the best foundation for this.
Fermentation, almost exclusively with wild yeasts, occurs slowly at low temperatures, partly in traditional large barrels and partly in small stainless steel tanks. A long aging on the lees and minimalistic cellar work enable expressive, multifaceted wines.

On Sundays and public holidays, we are open by appointment.
Wine tastings are gladly possible upon request.
During the grape harvest (until about the end of October), the opportunity to purchase wine in the Selbach wine shop still exists. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer wine tastings during the harvest and we ask for your understanding.
Tastings take place in our Selbach wine shop. You can find us at Gänsfelder Straße 20 in Zeltingen-Rachtig. (Between Rachtig and Erden)
