Zeltingen-Rachtig
At the Ackermann winery in Zeltingen-Rachtig on the Moselle, predominantly Riesling is grown on the 3 hectares of vineyard area, as well as Pinot Blanc and Rivaner. A selective hand harvest, gentle grape processing, and spontaneous fermentation are very important to the winery.
The today’s winery Ackermann was established in the mid-fifties by Kurt and Doris Ackermann and
has been continued by us, Harald and Anne Junglen, née Ackermann, since 1993. As newcomers, it was a challenge, but looking back, we did everything right.
The profession of a winemaker is very fulfilling, versatile, and interesting.
We work, tend, and live in a unique cultural landscape, where others go on vacation.
Since completing his studies in “Viticulture and Enology,” our son Marius has been working at a large local winery in the area. Since 2014, he has been supporting and accompanying our work in the vineyard and cellar, advising with ideas, goals, and stylistic concepts.
