Kulturzentrum Belginum Archäologiepark

Discover how the past comes alive: In the heart of the Hunsrück region, the cultural centre invites you to preserve cultural heritage, develop it further and bring it to life.

The centrepiece of the BELGINUM Archaeological Park is the museum, which was opened in 2002 in the middle of the ancient road village near Morbach-Wederath. It provides a vivid insight into how people lived along a long-distance road in Celtic and Roman times. Questions such as "What did the Romans eat?", "How was water provided?" or "What tools were used back then?" are answered and visualised using original artefacts.

Special grave finds give a face to the people of the past and bring their stories to life. At the same time, visitors gain an exciting insight into the work of archaeology - for example into methods such as aerial archaeology or the question of why archaeological research often begins in the rubbish of the past.

The permanent exhibition is complemented by selected items on loan from the collections of the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier and the Gesellschaft für nützliche Forschungen zu Trier.
