Gold miner's fountain
The gold miner's well in the center of Andel is a noteworthy testament to the "Andel Gold Rush" and serves as a reminder of the time of gold discoveries in the village.
The fountain is located in close proximity to the church in Andel. It was designed by the Kues artist Bernd Wendhut in 1986. This fountain commemorates the time when gold was searched for in Andel. In the Andeler Brook, which was subsequently called the Andeler Goldbach, there were some gold finds in the 18th and 19th centuries. Even in the mid-20th century, some gold nuggets are said to have been found.
