Bernkasteler Schweiz - Hiking in Bernkastel-Kues on the Mosel
The starting point of this hike is Bernkastel-Kues. The old town around the market place has a special charm - one of the most splendid medieval half-timbered ensembles of the region can be admired here.
Insights into the hiking tour:
The "Bernkasteler Schweiz" is perhaps the smallest "Schweiz" i. And it is located in Germany. A small river called "Tiefenbach" flows right through the nice area. Near the "Tinkelkapelle" (chapel) which is bulit on a rocky crag there is a small waterfall. With gradients and a sepentine-like route, the 11 km long hike is more suitable for experienced hikers. The tour lives up to it's name: it goes up and down the forest. On narrow paths, which are very good to hike.
