The Moselle and vineyards shape the landscape around Bernkastel-Kues. Along a distance of about 2 km, the educational trail "Lizard Loves Riesling" leads through the vineyards above the town. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, we find a rich variety of plant and animal life alongside the vines in the slate-covered, often very steep vineyards. Through nature- and culture-related stories, children learn about the annual cycle of the vine, discover connections between weather and growth, and explore the diversity of species in the vine rows and dry stone walls of the Moselle vineyards with all their senses.
