St Martin in Brauneberg

The celebration in honor of Saint Martin will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 5:30 PM. All participating children and adults will meet in the St. Joseph Monastery Church in Filzen. Here, children will present the Martin story.

The celebration will be accompanied by the village musicians from Brauneberg and Wintrich.

At 6:00 PM, the torchlight procession will head to the community and tourist office on Nussbaumallee. Pretzels will be distributed at the Martin's fire. Guests will be served mulled wine and sausages by the support association of the voluntary fire brigade Filzen. The local community, the Catholic parish of St. Matthias, Rechts und Links der Mosel, and the fire brigade warmly invite all children as well as citizens to this traditional event for the preservation of old customs.

The celebration to commemorate Saint Martin will take place on Saturday, 09 November 2024 at 17:30. All participating children and adults will meet in the monastery church in Filzen. Here, children will recite the story of St Martin. At 6.00 pm, the torchlight procession, accompanied by musicians from Brauneberg and Wintrich, heads to the municipal and tourist office in Nussbaumallee. The children receive their St Martin's pretzels at the St Martin's bonfire. Catering will be provided by the Brauneberg fire brigade support association. All citizens are of course cordially invited.
