Guided tour of the historic toy and icon museum at Machern Monastery

Discover toys, icons & special exhibitions – culture, history, and experiences for the whole family.

Over 3000 historical toys, a large LEGO display case, more than 200 icons from Ethiopia, Russia, and the Balkan countries, as well as changing special exhibitions, await discovery.

It is fascinating to learn about the history behind the exhibits, whether they are toys or icons. Have you ever met your own patron saint in the Orthodox calendar? This is also possible.

To round off the day, you can of course take a stroll in the monastery park beforehand or in between, explore the herb garden, use the playground, visit the Cornelius Chapel, or check out the businesses.
And throughout the day, you can keep returning to the museum for more discoveries.
