The exhibition "Between Forest and Vineyard" by the artist Harald Meuren, who was born in Piesport on the Moselle, is coming to an end. To celebrate this, the Villa Romana invites you to the finissage on Sunday, the 27th of September, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The exhibition has captivated many visitors with its landscape impressions of the Moselle. Harald Meuren captures the unique moods between forest, vineyards, and river. Gold ochre, rusty red, and leaf green dominate his color palette and give the paintings a warm, at times almost dreamy atmosphere.
His works are more than mere representations of the landscape. Using pigment paints and idiosyncratically structured painting grounds, images emerge that oscillate between memory and re-experiencing. Familiar landscapes appear slightly transcendent and transformed. The outer landscape becomes an inner one.
The finissage offers another opportunity to experience the successful exhibition with its special Moselle impressions and to engage in conversation with the artist personally. Harald Meuren provides insights into his working method and the creation of his paintings.
Since 2000, Harald Meuren has been working as a freelance painter of art and decorations in Berlin. His connection to the Moselle and the defining landscape there is directly palpable in the exhibited works.
To conclude the event in a relaxed manner, there will be a small reception with drinks and snacks. Admission is free.
