Doll clinic in Machern Monastery
When dolls need ‘first aid’.... the doll clinic visits the Machern Monastery Museum
In the past, people often took their favourite dolls to hairdressing salons for repairs, but today it's not quite so easy.
Finding a doll doctor is often the last hope for a family heirloom. After all, the doll should be able to pass on its history and experiences to future generations.
As part of the museum visit and in keeping with the pre-Christmas season, the doll clinic will open its practice in the museum on Saturday, 30 November 2024 from 11:00 -17:00. Reliving your own childhood memories or those of your grandparents is something very special. The sentimental value is often impossible to quantify. The doll doctor at the doll clinic restores dolls using original spare parts. And this applies to all brands and materials. There are many different materials to consider, including papier-mâché, papier-mâché, porcelain, bisque porcelain, paraffin porcelain, celluloid, celluloid, tortulon, composition dolls, hard plastic, vinyl... every beloved piece should look like it used to and is repaired using the original materials.
In order to be able to make the diagnosis as precisely as possible, it is helpful to receive an e-mail in advance with a description of the symptoms and, ideally, a picture.
Please send this to: diepuppenklinik@yahoo.deoder info@klostermachern.de.Minor procedures are carried out directly on site - on an outpatient basis, so to speak. Larger procedures are then carried out in the doll clinic by prior arrangement.
