Town and village centre Veldenz
Veldenz
With the largest of all Moselle castles dating back to the 12th century and the oldest town charter in the entire region, the resort town, which has been state-recognised since 1990, has much to offer.
The oldest stone evidence is the "Heidenmauer," a Celtic wall from around 400 B.C., which can be visited 1.5 km above the impressive Veldenz Castle. The idyllic wine village offers diverse hiking opportunities alongside its medieval buildings – the bell tower of the Protestant church (old defensive tower) from the 12th century and the Tithe House from the 15th century.
