The municipality of Kleinich is located in the Hunsrück part of the Bernkastel-Kues vacation region. The densely wooded low mountain range borders on the idyllic valleys to the Moselle. The parish of Kleinich has around 750 inhabitants and consists of eight formerly independent villages: Kleinich, Oberkleinich, Thalkleinich, Fronhofen, Götzeroth, Emmeroth, Pilmeroth and Ilsbach. The villages probably developed from individual farmsteads and are of Celtic origin. Many finds in the area point to the Celts. The most significant find from Celtic times is the burial ground belonging to the Vicus Belginum. kleinich was first mentioned in a document in 1220.
Hiking and cycling on beautiful tours
Cycling enthusiasts can experience the charming location and sights of the individual districts on a 35 km long signposted cycle path through the parish. The landscape can also be explored on foot: for example on the exciting and varied hiking trails such as the Kirchspiel's Tälertour side trip.
