The old town of Bernkastel has many sights to offer. The castle ruins of Landshut high above the town, the "Spitzhäuschen" (pointed house) or the historic market square. Kues is the largest district. Here you will find many wineries and wine taverns. The heritage of Nikolaus of Kues can also be seen here, in the "Cusanusstift", for example, or in his birthplace.
Suspension bridges, active holidays and wellness
Wehlen, the wine village of numerous sundials, is not only a sought-after destination due to its suspension bridge - unique on the Moselle - and its "Obstartweg", the famous wine "Wehlener Sonnenuhr" also grows here. The small district of Andel, just under 1.5 kilometres from the old town of Bernkastel, is ideal for active holidaymakers who want to skate, cycle or hike along the lakeside promenade. Generous hosts and wineries can of course also be found here. The Kueser Plateau belongs to the district of Kues. It is the "wellness district": health clinics, wellness hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments in great scenic surroundings: class for hiking and cycling.
