The Helenenkloster is located on a hill on the outskirts of the village, overlooking the entire Moselle valley. The Mülheimer Helenenkloster vineyard, just under 1 hectare in size, is the sole property of the Max Ferd Richter winery. The origins of the vineyard go back to a medieval monastery dedicated to Saint Helena, the foundations of which still lie partly under the vineyard. The vineyard itself is south-west facing and, compared to the steep slopes in Wehlen, Graach or Brauneberg, is rather gently sloping. It also has a very deep slate soil with a high proportion of loam and fine earth. Due to this soil, particularly vigorous and persistent vines thrive here, making it possible to regularly harvest Riesling Eiswein here, as the grapes remain healthy and resistant for a very long time.
