We recommend arriving with the train. Trier, the oldest city of Germany which is strongly influenced by the Romans has alot to offer. A numerous of Roman buildings like the "Porta Nigra", "Kaiserthermen" (imperial baths) and the amphitheatres are definitly worth a visit. Rental bikes can be deposited on your arriving day at the hotel on request.
On your first stage of the Moselle cycle path you will pass romantic wine-growing villages. The tour ends in the afternoon and you have different opportunities to explore the surrounding winegrowing communities.
The upcoming cycle stage takes you along romantic Moselle loops to the holiday region Bernkastel-Kues. Pass Neumagen-Dhron, Germany's oldest wine village, to Bernkastel-Kues, where the medieval market square invites you to linger and enjoy a glass of "Doctorwein" in one of the countless wine taverns. Your cozy accommodation awaits you in the heart of a traditional wine village.
After breakfast you will head to the Zeller Land holiday region. Passing the famous wine region "Kröver Nacktarsch" you come to Traben-Trarbach and Enkirch. Along the entire route you will experience the charm and romance of a lively and traditional wine region. In the afternoon you reach the so called "town of the black cat".
Today the tour will lead you to the holiday region Cochem. The stately Reichsburg (castle), the medieval town as well as a ride with the chair lift up to the "Pinnerkreuz" a definitly worth a visit. On the way to Cochem you will pass the so called "town of the sleeping beauty", Beilstein with its old castle ruins.
Nowhere else are the castles, stories, legends and witchcraft so close together as on your last day's stage to Koblenz. In Koblenz you will have enough time to take a ride with the chair lift, which was builded for the so called "Buga" (national garden show) in 2011 up to the fortress Ehrenbreitstein. From there you have a wonderful view of the "Deutsche Eck" (this is the point where the Moselle river flows into the Rhine river).
After breakfast your Moselle cycle tour ends. You organize your departure individually or we can organize a return transfer service (pre-booking required) to Trier for you.
