This stage leads along the right bank of the Moselle from the wine village of Piesport to the historic Bernkastel-Kues. The 18.5-kilometre-long cycle tour begins with a view of the natural monument "Moselloreley", a rock massif rising steeply out of the Moselle. Downstream, the route takes you along vineyards, orchards and picturesque winegrowing villages such as Wintrich, Brauneberg and Mülheim to the cultural highlight of the stage. The famous Moselle town of Bernkastel-Kues has a lot to offer, so a longer stay here is well worthwhile. A picturesque old town full of history and culture with one of the most beautiful half-timbered backdrops in Germany is waiting to be discovered. Landshut Castle towers majestically over the medieval town, the birthplace of Nikolaus Cusanus invites you to visit, and the Moselle Wine Museum offers all wine enthusiasts a fascinating insight into the world of Moselle wine.
