Wine Festival of the Middle Moselle News:
The Wine Festival of the Middle Moselle will not take place in 2021. "It is not foreseeable when large folk festivals can take place again, because at the moment no one knows how many visitors will be admitted. And the wine festival is a magnet for visitors, which usually attracts up to 200,000 people," says Wolfgang Port, mayor of the town, explaining the current problem.
Attractions of the "Wine Festival of the Middle Moselle" in Bernkastel-Kues include the coronation of the new Mosella - the Wine Queen of Bernkastel-Kues - on the historic market square and the spectacular fireworks display, which will be launched from the banks of the Moselle and Landshut Castle. Of course also the splendid wine festival parade with floats of numerous Moselle communities and dance and music groups from Germany and abroad. An extensive supporting programme with live music, evening of the "Moselblümchen" (this used to be the traditional dress for women and girls in former times) and wine tasting evening will contribute to making a visit to the wine festival something special. An inseparable part of the Moselle Wine Festival is the large amusement park and the arts and crafts market on the banks of the Moselle, both of which open their doors one day after the opening of the festival.
