The town of Bernkastel-Kues would have had its 43rd Christmas market in the narrow streets of the old town of Bernkastel this year. But Corona does not allow the usual hustle and bustle in December. So this year, those responsible have come up with something special to provide a bit of Christmas atmosphere.
More than 30 shop window stalls decorated for Christmas invite visitors to stroll and look around the old town. With the glow of lights, the scent of fir trees and a picturesque backdrop of half-timbered houses, the Christmas spirit is guaranteed. Furthermore, additional light illuminations on the Gestade, in Kues, on the market square and at Landshut Castle provide bright and warming colours in the evening hours. Not to be forgotten is the largest Advent calendar in the Moselle region. It is located on the market square in Bernkastel. In the windows of the historic half-timbered house of the Adler pharmacy, a little door opens every evening at 5:30 pm.
