Where do I find the tourist information?
The tourist information office is located on the Bernkasteler Moselle side, directly on the main road that runs along the river bank.
Coming from the A1: Take the Wittlich-Mitte exit and take the B50 towards Bernkastel-Kues; at the next roundabouts take the first exit towards L53, then the third exit to stay on the L53. At the next roundabout take the second exit (B50); at the next roundabout take the first exit (L47). Arrived in Bernkastel-Kues, take the third exit at the roundabout and follow the road, then turn left over the bridge at the second roundabout. At the building of the municipality (Gestade 18) turn right into the parking lot.
Approach through the Burgberg Tunnel: Coming from the Hunsrück (distance from the A61 about 60 km) through the tunnel, turn right towards Bernkastel-Kues, at the building of the association community (Gestade 18) turn left into the parking lot.

Are there guided tours?
The weekly open city tours are offered all year round on Saturdays at 2.30 pm. From April till October this tour also takes place on Thursdays, also at 2.30 pm. The tour costs 5 euros per person. Meeting point is Gestade 6/Karlsbader Platz. Of course, other dates are also possible for groups. How do I reach the Mosel-Maare cycle path?
The 50 km long tour starts in Daun and leads via Lieser back to Bernkastel-Kues. For the steeply running way there is a bicycle bus, which brings the cyclists from Bernkastel-Kues (Forumsplatz) to Daun. We recommend to book the tickets in advance, because there are only a limited number of bicycle places. During opening hours, tickets can be reserved at the Mosel-Gäste-Zentrum (Gestade 6). Further information can be found on the corresponding website.
Are there public toilets?
You will find a toilet facility in the district of Kues near the old railway station, two others in the district of Bernkastel: at Karlsbader-Platz behind the tourist information office and at Gestade, Alter Moselbahnhof.
Where can I find the nearest post office?
The post office is located in the Kueser district, Im Viertheil 25th (see city map): Monday to Friday 9 to 12.30 pm and 13.30 to 17 pm, Sat. 9 to 12.30 pm, Sun. closed.
How do I get to Traben Trarbach on foot from Bernkastel-Kues?
The shortest hiking trail to Traben Trabach is about 6.5 km long and runs through the vineyards. You will find the entrance to Bernkastel at the Graacher Tor. From Grabenstrasse turn left into the vineyards towards Traben Trarbach.
On the way you will pass the excursion restaurant "Zur eisernen Weinkarte". The path is well signposted and leads you to Traben Trarbach in about 1.5 to 2 hours.
How do I get to the castle ruin Landshut?
On foot: From the market square in Bernkastel walk left past the Spitzhäuschen, up Karlsstrasse. From there it goes left through the vineyards over steps up to the castle ruin Landshut. You'll be there in about 30 minutes.
The restaurant is open daily, except Wednesday, from 12 to 21 o'clock.
By car: From Bernkastel, drive in the direction of Morbach through the Burgberg tunnel and follow the road for about 2 km. Then turn right towards Burg Landshut. After a short time you will reach the parking lot. From here it is about 500 m on foot.
The Burg Landshut-Express runs daily from April to October every hour, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., to the castle ruins and back to the city.
Wht about boats?
There are several boat tours on the Moselle from Bernkastel-Kues during the season, duration: 1 hour. The departure is below the tourist information on the banks of the Moselle. There are also regular boat services to Trier as well as regular trips to Traben Trarbach and back.
