Directions
Starting point of the "Mühlenweg" is the village well on the "Gott". Downhill via the Kleinicher Straße keep left and reach the Johannisstraße. At the crossing with Kleinicher Straße you will find the local museum, attached to the Barbara mill, built in 1947. After a few meters you leave the village and follow the asphalt farm road on the right. Passing the "Duppisch-Wäldchen" you reach the bottom of the valley and cross the Waschbach. You will pass the barbecue hut of the local community Longkamp on the right side of the forest and come across a pasture. There you leave the tarred road and turn left towards "Rammersberg". After about one kilometre you will reach a beautifully situated vantage point with a view over the Kautenbach valley. The Mühlenweg then leads you onto an asphalt road. After a few meters you pass the farmstead of the Zimmer family and reach the so-called "Kaisergarten". This garden also offers shady resting places. Behind the Kaisergarten you keep left and walk in the direction of the Mühlental. You will pass the Conradsmühle, the Wagner-Mühle, the Andeas Mühle, the Olkmühle, the Hornesmühle and the Schmitzmühle in the mentioned order, before you reach and cross the connecting road between Longkamp and Kleinich. After about 300 metres you pass the Kommener Mühle, idyllically situated and surrounded by herb meadows. Afterwards, the road goes steeply uphill from the mill valley and after about 500 metres you reach the road leading to Kommen. There you keep to the right, there is a continuous beautiful view over Longkamp to the Eifel - with good visibility even to the "Hohe Acht" at the Nürburgring. Then you reach the village of Kommen and the path leads you past a small chapel. You leave Kommen and pass some horse stables on the left side. At the entrance to Longkamp you will see the chapel built in 1775. Via Bernkasteler Straße - past the town hall of the Lonkamp community - and via Andreasstraße you will reach our starting point again.
