Summer Stage 3: WUTHE & FAUST / THE WONDERFROLLEINS AND "DON GIORGIO"

For the 15th time, we are celebrating summer full of music in Bernkastel-Kues. As part of the Summer Stage Bernkastel-Kues, 10 concerts by regional and national artists will take place from June 25 to August 27, 2026, on Thursdays from 6-10 p.m. Admission is free and the program is colorful: rock & pop, jazz & blues, funk & soul, hits – there should be something for everyone!

6 p.m.: “Wuthe & Faust” are a singer-songwriter duo.
The two musicians Jan Hampicke, 42 years old, from Kassel on the Schlaggitarre, and Maik Garthe, 41 years old, from Ellershausen on the electric guitar, have been making music together for thirteen years now and have recently released their third CD: “muggy nights dizzy days” includes 14 songs of their own creation, once again recorded in the Building-Site-Studio in Hamburg.
On their third CD, which is purely acoustic this time, you can find the distinctive features of their live performances: alternating lead vocals, two-part harmonies, guitars playing with rhythm and pickings, refined songwriting with essences from folk, blues, roots rock, and country, and the resulting musical mood pictures from delicate and fragile to loud and exuberant.
In their live program, “Wuthe & Faust” mix their own compositions with songs that are near and dear to them, from artists like the Beatles, Townes van Zandt, Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, or Bruce Springsteen.

8 p.m.: THE WONDERFROLLEINS AND "DON GIORGIO"
With wit, charm, and temperament, the three accomplished professional musicians sweep through the German economic miracle of the 50s and early 60s, captivating their audience after just a few beats. They take us back to the time of Connie and Catharina, cap fishers & Capri pants, and of course, Heimatfilms & Halbstarken. As colorful as their petticoat dresses, the program of the “Wonderfrolleins” is uniquely and virtuously crafted by Andrea Paredes Montes (lead vocals, guitar), Lexi Rumpel (bass, vocals), and Isabelle Bodenseh (flute, percussion, vocals).
The trio is joined by the drummer Rainer Rumpel, alias Don Giorgio. Musical excursions to other decades are just as much part of the program as musical journeys overseas. With “The Mamas & The Papas” dreams are dreamed, with Louis Prima swinging is enjoyed, and with Latin American sounds from Mexico, Cuba, or Brazil, the magic of the tropics is conjured up.
