Since 2000, 41-year-old Holger Breit has run the estate and enlarged it to 6 hectares of vineyards, by acquiring new sites particularly at the “Piesporter Goldtröpfchen”. Everything passes through Holger´s hands, his head and his heart. And it shows. The focus is on maturing fruity, sweet wines. Exclusively in the Moselle region will you find sweet wines with such subtle tastes of acid and minerals.

Since 2000, 41-year-old Holger Breit has run the estate and enlarged it to 6 hectares of vineyards, by acquiring new sites particularly at the “Piesporter Goldtröpfchen”. Everything passes through Holger´s hands, his head and his heart. And it shows. The focus is on maturing fruity, sweet wines. Exclusively in the Moselle region will you find sweet wines with such subtle tastes of acid and minerals. In fall, Holger Breit tries the grapes from each vineyard to set the optimal harvest date, so that the grade of maturity and not the degree Oechsle is the decisive criterion. The first harvest of the Goldtröpfchen is the Kabinett, the second selection makes up for the Spätlese (late vintage) and the best grapes are vinified to the Auslese (wine from selected grapes). The wines are matured in stainless steel barrels. Contact with oxygen should be limited to the skin contact of the mash, before the gentle pressing. In 2007, part of the high-quality Rieslings were desterned before skin contact. The full-bodied wines are fermented exclusively with natural yeasts at fixed, cool temperatures. Through interruption of the fermentation process, the wines keep some natural residual sugar. Before bottling, the wines are usually filtered only once. Holger Breit is a founding member of the MoselJünger, an association of winemakers in the Moselle region.
