Roman Leugenstein

During the Roman Empire the castle Noviomagus extended to both sides of this copy of the Leuga Stone situated on the Via Ausonia. On the Leuga Stone, set up during the reign of the emperor Caracalla in the year 212 A.D., the distance to Trier is given in 15 leugas.
