Vineyard and sundial
The famous vineyard site is the inspiration for the many sundials in Wehlen, the ‘place of 100 sundials’. The ‘nature reserve orchards’ on the Wehlen plateau is ideal for a nature holiday on the Moselle. In spring, it delights the eye and nose with a wide variety of flowers and scents, and in summer and autumn with a rich selection of fruit varieties. Beautiful half-timbered houses such as the Kerpen'sche Haus, built in 1614, richly decorated, finely structured and well preserved, are among the attractions of a stroll through Wehlen. The only suspension bridge on the Moselle can be found in Wehlen. It was opened to traffic in 1949 and is a real eye-catcher!
