Gold miner's fountain
The "Goldgräberbrunnen" (well) in the centre of Andel reminds of the time when gold was found in the village (18th century).
The fountain is located in the immediate vicinity of the church in Andel. It was designed by the Kues artist Bernd Wendhut in 1986 and commemorates the time when gold was mined in Andel. Andel experienced a period of gold mining between the 15th and 19th centuries as part of its mining tradition.
