If you find an object of value (worth more than € 10.00), you have to hand it in at the lost property office. Details on the lost object, the time and place of the finding as well as your personal data are recorded for notification.

Storage and auction: The lost property office is obliged to keep lost objects for at least six months. If the owner does not register within this time, the finder is entitled to the item. If the finder does not make use of this right, or if the objects were found in public buildings or means of transport, the city or the municipality becomes owner of the property.
