Protestant Church Bernkastel-Kues
The parish hall of the Protestant parish originally stood in Bernkastel and was consecrated in 1863.
In 1883, the building burnt down completely and only part of the inventory could be saved. In search of a new home, the parish found what it was looking for in Kues, which had been connected to Bernkastel by a bridge since 1874. It was able to acquire a plot of land in Kaiserallee, today's Saarallee. Construction of a church in the neo-Gothic style began here in 1880, based on plans by the Berlin architect Zöllner. The church was consecrated a year later. It was badly damaged during the Second World War and the renovation and extension work took almost 10 years. The church was not reopened until 1954.
