After many years of renovation, the time has finally come: The Landshut castle ruins, located high above Bernkastel, opens its doors again. What's new? In addition to access to the keep (the tower), there is now also a barrier-free tour around the castle, thanks in part to the handicapped-accessible elevator. During this "walk around the castle", information boards not only show the way, they also provide information about various aspects of the castle's history, such as the Roman fort that was built here about 1500 years ago, or details such as the former "double-door gateway" or the "western flank of the late Roman fortification". If you want to immerse yourself in the rich history of Landshut Castle, the castle tour is just the right thing for you! Carefully trained guides provide competent and entertaining information and are also - in keeping with the historical ambience - dressed in historical costumes.
