You travel individually to Koblenz. We recommend that you travel by train. Take plenty of time to visit the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and see one of Coblence's landmarks, the Deutsches Eck, the headland where the Moselle flows into the Rhine and where the imposing equestrian monument to Emperor Wilhelm I was erected.
You start at the ferry pier on the banks of the Rhine in Koblenz-Stolzenfels. Follow the yellow Jacobs shell on a blue background. You should not miss the opportunity to visit Stolzenfels Castle on your hike, and so you will reach your destination Alken via Waldesch during your first stage hike uphill - now on the Hunsrück side - where you can calmly end the first day.
Before continuing this morning, it is worth making a detour to Thurant Castle, which towers above the village. Then you cross the Moselle bridge and reach Löf, now back on the Eifel side. From here it is only 3 km to Hatzenport. Past prominent points such as the "Küppchen", the path leads along the box tree hiking trail, with its wonderful views of the Moselle valley, on to Treis-Karden.
You hike through the Karden district and cross the Moselle to Treis. Afterwards the Moselle-Camino leads you up to the so-called "Birkenkopf", but the monastery Maria Engelport is definitely worth the climb! Visit this place of pilgrimage of the Catholics and take a little time out here. After another 2 km you will reach Beilstein, also known as the "Sleeping Beauty of the Moselle". Immerse yourself in the medieval atmosphere of this idyllic place. The destination of today's stage hike is Bullay.
After you have started fresh and refreshed, you will reach your first stopover after about 3 km, the Zell Marienburg. Here too, fantastic views over the Zeller Moselle valley are included. The Prinzenkopf observation tower and the nearby cemetery of honour are only a few minutes' walk away. The Moselle Camino takes you further to Zell. Visit the town centre with the "Zeller Schwarze Katz" fountain. Via the Bummkopf you reach Enkirch. The magnificent panoramic path leads you via the Grevenburg ruins to Traben-Trarbach. The art nouveau village with its Buddha Museum, its Moselle thermal baths and the underworld are already looking forward to seeing you!
Your Moselle hiking tour ends after breakfast. You organise your departure individually.
