Thriller ‘The Institute - In the Shadow of Science’

Virologist and bestselling author Prof. Dr Hendrik Streeck with thriller premiere ‘The Institute’ on 7 March 2025 in Klausen.

As part of ‘Culture in the pilgrimage church’, the virologist Prof. Dr Hendrik Streeck, who became famous through the Corona Panademie, will be a guest in Klausen on 7 March 2025.

Following his non-fiction bestseller ‘Nachbeben’, he will publish his first fictional thriller ‘Das Institut - Im Schatten der Wissenschaft’ on 27 February 2025. One of the first dates after the book premiere is in Klausen and after the reading he will talk to Father Albert Seul OP about the book and his life as a virologist.

About Hendrik Streeck
Biography

Prof Dr Hendrik Streeck is the Director of the Institute of Virology at the University Hospital Bonn. He began his medical career at the Charité in Berlin and completed his doctorate at the Friedrich Wilhelm University in Bonn.From 2006 to 2009, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School.He was an assistant professor at the Ragon Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School, as well as head of the Department of Cellular Immunology at the US Military HIV Research Programme.In 2015, Streeck accepted a call to Essen, where he founded the Institute for HIV Research. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German AIDS Foundation. He was a member of the Corona Expert Council of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the German government. He is currently a member of the Enquete Commission II NRW ‘Crisis and Emergency Management’ and the Federal Government's Expert Council on Health and Social Resilience.
