The soul of the animal: Photo exhibition at the Machern Monastery
"The eye is the window to the soul." This sentence applies not only to interpersonal contacts. When you look deeply into an animal's eye, a fellow creature returns the gaze, and it is certainly not soulless.
Visitors to the exhibition "The Soul of the Animal" can be impressively convinced by the photographs of Wilnsdorf photographer Elfi Jung. She showcases her eye-to-eye encounters with tigers and polar bears, foxes and hedgehogs, and other wild and not-so-wild animals, all of which deserve human recognition and protection.
Wild or familiar? The captivating animal photographs invite us to question our understanding of animals. The global perspective on endangered species such as polar bears and tigers simultaneously highlights the significance of regional animal worlds – in Siegerland and right in our own homes. How do we treat animals, and what do animals evoke in us?
The youngest guests will be greeted with a large memory game, where exciting animal photos can be discovered. Learning and storytelling through play 12.
An excursion destination with or without guidance for kindergarten groups and school classes.
Who is really looking into whose soul here? The series "Touch" creates impressively moving moments, presenting intimate black-and-white photos that depict heartfelt moments between humans and animals in a special way.
Both Aristotle and many passages in the Bible deal with the soul of the animal. Moreover, the portrayal of animals often has a symbolic character.
Through the support of various animal welfare organizations, the special exhibition "The Soul of the Animal" has a particular focus on animal protection. Both large and small visitors can gain valuable insights here on how they can ensure that the animals around them are doing well.
An exhibition to take home: All the displayed pictures can be purchased for a donation to the supporting animal welfare organizations.
