St. Martin im März-Noviand

The local community of Maring-Noviand, together with the parish and the local heritage association, invites all children with their lanterns to the traditional St. Martin's procession on 8 November 2023. We start at 6.00 pm with the St Martin's Day celebration in St Lambert's Church in Noviand.

Led by "St Martin on the horse", the St Martin's procession starts after the St Martin's Day celebration in front of the church in Noviand. We will then walk through the streets of the village with lanterns and sing the well-known songs. The procession is accompanied by the Maring-Noviand Music Society and ends at the school gymnasium on Serginer Platz where the St Martin's bonfire is lit. Each child also receives a pretzel there. Afterwards, the parish and the local heritage association will serve sausages and hot drinks. The Maring-Noviand volunteer fire brigade will ensure safety. Residents are once again cordially invited to decorate their houses with lights and lanterns.
