Sommerbühne 1: GERD BLUME / SUNSHINE DAYDREAM
Summer stage Bernkastel-Kues the first! Two concerts in the courtyard of Landshut Castle!
For the 14th time, we celebrate summer full of music in Bernkastel-Kues. As always, you will experience great open-air events with free admission.
Every Thursday from 6 PM to 10 PM, we offer you 2 bands and cheerful after-work entertainment in the most beautiful places in our town.
6 PM: Sunshine Dream
Sunshine Daydream takes you on a time travel to the good old days of the Love & Peace generation. Folk rock from the 60s and 70s, with songs from America, Tom Petty, Crosby Stills Nash, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, CCR, Eagles, Jefferson Airplane, Byrds, and Grateful Dead, brings the spirit of the hippie era back to life. Selected songs are expressions of a pacifistic and social lifestyle, and their slogans like "make love not war" were symbolic protests against the Vietnam War. The Flower Power movement was thus part of the musical pop culture of the 60s and 70s and represented the ideals of an entire generation. These free-spirited values should be preserved and carried into today.
8 PM: Gerd Blume and his "Ensemble d'amour"
Endorphins for everyone!!! A pompous Schlager and dance evening with the music group "The Gerd-Blume-Show." When happiness messenger Gerd Blume invites you to one of his impressive Schlager evenings, no dancing foot remains still, and no armpit stays dry. The likable entertainer and his specially assembled "Ensemble d’Amour” instantly create exuberance and good cheer as soon as the first notes rise. It’s all about the good old German song repertoire from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, which “The Gerd-Blume-Show” remains loyal to—much to the delight of the audience reveling in freedom and love at the edge of the stage. Gerd Blume has made it his mission to transport his guests into the world of sentimental ballads and love songs, always assisted by the evergreens and hits of well-known sentimentalists such as Howard Carpendale, Udo Jürgens, Peter Maffay, Michael Holm, Matthias Reim, or Münchner Freiheit. A few party bombs from the NDW era by colorful artists like Heinz-Rudolf Kunze, Nena, or Hubert Kah are, of course, part of the explosive repertoire. Whether early birds or late bloomers, every song in the "Gerd-Blume-Show" is celebrated by the audience, from the precise grandfather to the cheeky granddaughter… because the world has never seen anything like it!
