St. Nicholas hike in Bernkastel-Kues

Traditional circular walk in Bernkastel-Kues with mulled wine or punch.

On the first Sunday in December, the town of Bernkastel-Kues organises its annual St. Nicholas walk. This year, the route leads from the market square in Bernkastel up to the Kueser Plateau. Hikers can enjoy mulled wine or punch in the newly designed spa gardens. The route leads over the mountain to the most beautiful wine view in Lieser, where a photo shoot with St Nicholas is scheduled. After a detour to the new Skywalk, you can fortify yourself with soup at the Rosenberghütte for the return journey to Bernkastel. The almost 14-kilometre route has gentle climbs as well as quaint forest and vineyard passages. In some places, there are impressive views across the Moselle valley.
