Christian Schmitt & Matthias Höfs: Organ and brass - masters of their trade full of passion and virtuosity!

He has already played under conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim and Kent Nagano - and on the most beautiful organs in the world. Christian Schmitt appreciates the peculiarities of countless of these ‘queens of instruments’. Born in Saarland, he began his brilliant career here, which quickly led him to solo appearances with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin and in the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. His extraordinary talent and captivating enthusiasm for his instrument make the ‘Lord of a Thousand Pipes’ one of the most sought-after organists internationally. Passion and a love of experimentation also characterise Matthias Höfs, who also recommended himself at a young age for the first rank of German brass players and is a co-founder of the famous brass ensemble ‘German Brass’.
