Lecture: Interpreting and speculating

The hermeneutical dimension of the art of conjecturing by Nicholas of Cusa

The lecture is intended to provide an introduction to the Cusan concept of conjecture ("coniectura") while also offering a perspective on this concept from a contemporary approach: the "art of conjecture" ("ars coniecturalis") is a hermeneutic philosophy, serving as a practice that aims at the non-comprehending understanding of the precision ("praecisio") of truth, which is based on the necessity of conjecturing - and thus of interpreting.
