Heaven and earth - secular chansons and their sacred settings
Final concert of the 39th Days of Ancient Choral Music
Famous songs that were sung everywhere also existed in the Renaissance. These hits were so popular that composers even used them as melodies for mass settings. The program features five of these secular chansons and excerpts from their wonderful and diverse adaptations in the mass settings of composers Dufay, Desprez, Lasso, Palestrina, and Ingegneri.
