Freaky Days in the Kurpark

Summer stage on Thursday and “Chill out” on Friday – these are the Freaky Days 2 days of musical summer vibes! A meadow in the spa park will turn into an event location on July 3rd and 4th, complete with a stage for live bands, food and drink stalls, and a picnic area for “chilling.”

On both days, picnic blankets can be spread out on the lawn in good weather. Additionally, seating blocks are available above the lawn. The culinary offerings range from currywurst and fries to burgers and tarte flambée, as well as Thai specialties. Alongside a wine stand, there is also a beverage stand with freshly tapped beer.

The Freaky Days kick off on Thursday with the Summer Stage.

Starting at 6 PM, RO GEBHARDT & RAINER WOLLMANN FEAT. THE NEW GENERATION will perform. The two-time scholarship recipient of the Berklee College of Music, winner of the Steven D. Holland Award, and award-winning author Ro Gebhardt celebrates fine guitar music during the Guitar Special, alongside the passionate guitarist and founder of the band "Starkstrom," Rainer Wollmann. They are supported by the exceptional rhythm talents Alec Gebhardt, a young student at HFM and the youngest prizewinner of the Kulturverein Neunkirchen, and Jonas Drobczynski from Mainz on drums. Ro Gebhardt: Studied composition at the University of Cologne, author of "Jazz Alphabet" & "The Art Of Guitar-Duo," CD & video productions from solo to big band with predominantly original compositions, and worldwide tours including concerts at Blue Note/New York, Central Park Jazzfest NYC, Berlin, Paris, Warsaw, etc. Guest lecturer at various universities, such as Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts in New York, HFM Cologne, Music & Arts Malta, Jazz & Rock School Freiburg, etc. "Best R’n’B/Soul Song" and "Best Jazz-Rock Song" from the German Pop Foundation.

Starting at 8 PM, then X-CHANGE - The Return of a Legend will perform. X-Change – stands for honest, handmade rock with plenty of pressure behind it. Founded in the early 90s, the band quickly became a well-kept secret in the southwest German rock scene – and beyond. With a sound that oscillates between groovy hard rock and melodic rock, and an energetic stage presence, X-Change earned a reputation as a relentless live band.
What started as a collaboration of five experienced musicians quickly became a staple on countless stages – in their home region as well as in neighboring countries. Over 100 performances in just two years speak volumes. With the addition of a keyboard player, X-Change expanded stylistically even further, without losing their uncompromising character.
Whether it's large city festivals, scene clubs, or open-air events with several tens of thousands of spectators – X-Change has rocked them all. Highlights such as the legendary performance at the Rhineland-Palatinate Day in front of over 35,000 people or the collaboration with Radio Rockland, where even stages were rolled out on 32-ton trucks, remain particularly memorable.
Until 2013, the band toured regularly and shaped an era of regional rock culture. Now – over a decade later – the time has finally come: X-Change is back! A unique revival concert brings the sound, power, and passion back to the stage.
Those who were there know: This will be big. Those who missed it now have the chance.

Friday of the Freaky Days is all about "Chill out."
