Cusanus course: Cusanus as a reformer
From the beginning to the end of his career, Nicholas of Cusa regarded the reform of the Church as an essential task.
From the beginning to the end of his career, Nicholas of Cusa regarded the reform of the Church as an essential task. His writings range from "De Concordantia Catholica" (1433) to "Reformatio Generalis" (1458/59), and Cusanus' actions also bear witness to his zeal for reform. His thoughts and actions in this regard are in no way unrelated to his philosophical thinking. The course explores Cusanus the reformer by analysing excerpts from the aforementioned and other, smaller reform writings and with references to his philosophical thinking.
