Moselle holiday in the ancestral seat of the County of Veldenz

Veldenz, a state-approved resort since 1990, is located in one of the most beautiful side valleys of the Moselle. Over 400 guest beds in inns, vacation apartments, guesthouses and private homes are available to vacationers. A truly princely pleasure awaits you in one of the most beautiful side valleys of the Moselle: the conquest of the former ancestral seat of the Counts of Veldenz turned the town into a hub of very special quality - with influential connections to German kings and emperors and to the Swedish royal family.

Celts, Romans and Black Peter
With the largest of all Moselle castles dating back to the 12th century and the oldest town charter in the entire region, the resort town, which has been recognized by the state since 1990, has a lot to offer. The oldest stone evidence is the "Heidenmauer", a Celtic wall dating back to around 400 BC, which can be visited 1.5 km above the impressive Veldenz Castle. The idyllically situated wine village offers a variety of hiking opportunities in addition to its medieval buildings - the bell tower of the Protestant church (old fortified tower) from the 12th century and the tithe house from the 15th century. Explore the cultural trail "Counts, Gold and Black Peter", the Grafschafter hiking trails or the side trail of the Moselsteig Trail "Graf Georg Johannes Weg".
