Probably the most famous hiking event in the Bernkastel-Kues holiday region is the popular 24-hour hike. Every year at the end of April it attracts numerous hiking enthusiasts to the Moselle. On 80 kilometres, it takes 24 hours through vineyards and forests, as well as along the Moselle. On the way there are numerous refreshment stations waiting for the hikers.
During the main season (approx. May - October) a panoramic cable car ride with vineyard walk and wine tasting is recommended. This takes place twice a week, always on Saturdays and Wednesdays, at 3 p.m. and offers, in addition to a short hike, an exciting guided tour and delicious wine tasting.
Another highlight are the wine experience days - here the focus is on enjoyment. Gourmets will get their money's worth on both the winery hike and the culinary hike.
At the end of the year a traditional hiking event follows - the St. Nicholas Hike. For about 10 kilometres, the hike takes you through the wintry landscape, where you can enjoy a delicious stew, mulled wine and tea.
Brand new in our repertoire: the 12-hour hike in the Bernkastel-Kues holiday region! 45 kilometres in 12 hours! The 12 hour hike is the little sister of the 24 hour hike. That is why it is called THE LITTLE ONE.
