Exploring the picturesque Moselle valley by boat

A trip on the river, cruising past vineyards and romantic villages, is an essential part of any Moselle holiday. From May to October, visitors can choose between one-hour round trips or longer cruises to Traben-Trarbach, Zell, Cochem or Trier.

There are two boat companies in Bernkastel-Kues which run attractive and relaxing boat trips on the Moselle.

One-hour round trips
One-hour round trips are available everyday at the height of the tourist season, from May to October. These usually start at 10 am, with the last trip leaving at 5 pm. The boat leaves from the riverbank in Bernkastel every 30 minutes and heads up river towards Brauneberg. To the far end of this old winegrowing village, the boat turns round and sails back to the old town of Bernkastel.

Moselle town tour from Bernkastel-Kues to Traben-Trarbach
The trip starts at 10 am and takes visitors up river to the dual town of Traben-Trarbach. On the way, the boat passes typical Moselle villages such as Zeltingen-Rachtig or Kröv and passes through a lock, arriving at the famous art nouveau town in just under two hours. The last return trip to Bernkastel-Kues leaves at 5 pm, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed stroll around the town.
This boat trip is available during the May-October season. Boats travel back and forth between the two Moselle towns up to four times a day.

Trier, Zell, Cochem and Koblenz
Regular boat trips run during the tourist season to the oldest city in Germany, to the home of the famous "black cat" or to the town crowned by the Reichsburg castle. From Cochem, you can take a boat to Koblenz.
